FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Bridgeport woman who is a suspect in two shoplifting incidents here was arrested July 6 after she was found with heroin, syringes and a crack pipe, police said.

Rachel Landow, 30, of Elmwood Avenue, was charged with possession of narcotics and use and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Around 1:30 p.m., a police sergeant stopped Landow, who was driving a black Nissan Sentra believed to match the one used in larcenies at the CVS on Grasmere Avenue and the Walgreens on Kings Highway East in June, police said.

She was making an improper turn near Kings Highway East and Grasmere, police said. As the officer approached the car he saw Landow moving something under the seat.

Landow told the sergeant she had been using intravenous heroin and that she had drugs and paraphernalia in the car.

K-9 officer Jagger was brought in and found nine syringes, a plastic bag containing a crack pipe and wax folds of a brown substance that tested positive for heroin, police said.

Police contacted Landow’s parole officer and continue to investigate the larcenies.

She was released on a promise to appear in court on July 17.
