FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A former employee at a Fairfield store was charged with stealing $3,400 worth of merchandise earlier this year, according to police reports.
The manager at Joseph A. Bank on the Post Road reported the theft to police Feb. 20, police say. The suspect took three suits and three pairs of shoes, worth a total of $3,400, from the store while working there, according to the police report.
Rafael Crespo, 20, of Bridgeport, admitted to the thefts when confronted, police say. He was fired at the time of the police report and arrested on a warrant Tuesday afternoon in Fairfield, according to the arrest report.
Crespo was charged with third-degree larceny, a felony. He was held on $5,000 bond and is due in court on April 19.
