Paul Thomas, 53, of Charles Street, was charged with third-degree burglary and larceny in connection with the theft of $8,300 worth of computers, jewelry and other property in the burglary, police said.

A woman called police May 20, 2012, reporting that several items belonging to her and her two roommates had been stolen from their home, police said. The house had been left unlocked, but their locked bedrooms showed signs of forced entry, police said.

Two Apple MacBooks, Bose speakers, a designer clutch bag, an Apple iPod and jewelry were taken in the burglary, police said.

The following day, Easton police reported that a man went to a town farm seeking employment and told a 15-year-old girl there that he was a sorcerer and could walk on water. He then gave the teen an Apple MacBook and jewelry, police said.

He was later identified as Thomas, police said.

Fairfield police retrieved the items and obtained a search warrant for his car, police said. Officers found 36 items, including some items stolen from the Fairfield Beach Road home, police said.

Thomas was held on $10,000 bond and is expected to appear in court Dec. 14.
