The teen was charged with interfering with an officer, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol by a minor, after police clocked his car traveling 54 mph on the Post Road east near River Street at about 9 p.m., police said.
Police said the teen did not initially stop for blinking lights. After he was stopped, he refused to put down his cellphone or get out of the car, police said.
When the teen reached in his pocket suddenly, officers restrained him in handcuffs, police said. He broke free and started running down Sasco Hill Road, yelling, “Call the police!” before officers detained him again, police said.
K-9 officer Jagger was called to the scene and found an open can of beer on the rear floorboard, a case of 23 unopened cans, a pipe, a fake ID and three bags of a leafy green substance believed to be marijuana, police said.
The teen's parents were called to the scene, and he was released to their custody with a juvenile summons to appear in court on April 29, police said.
