Southport Man Found Sitting In Car Faces Narcotics Charges In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Southport man was arrested on several drug charges after officers noticed him sitting in a parked car behind a business at 96 Old Post Road on Saturday night, police said.

Jack Mcmahon, 22, of Mill Hill Lane, told police he was having car trouble at 11 p.m., but the officer smelled marijuana, police said. Upon searching the car, the officer found 7 grams of cocaine, eight glassine bags of heroin and 24 pills of amphetamine and Adderall, police said.

The officer also saw an electronic scale on the floor behind Mcmahon’s feet and packaging materials in the car, police said.

Mcmahon was charged with two counts of possession of narcotics and one count of possession of a controlled substance. He was released on $50 bond and is expected to appear in court on Jan. 21.
