Police: Woman Used Her Kids In Fairfield Shoplifting Case

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A Bridgeport woman was charged with larceny after using her young child to hide clothing she was stealing from a Fairfield store, police said.

Store security at Kohl’s department store on Tunxis Hill told police that a woman entered a changing room in the store with merchandise Sunday afternoon and left with nothing visible, according to the police report. Tags from the items were later found inside the changing room, police say.

Enteca Golemi, 29, paid for two items at the register but did not try to pay for the $337 worth of items, according to the police report. Store security found the clothing hidden on Golemi and her 5-year-old son, police say. Golemi also had a 2-year-old with her at the time, according to the police report.

Golemi was charged with sixth-degree larceny, a misdemeanor. She was released at the scene on a promise to appear in court and assigned a hearing date of May 20.
