FAIRFIELD, Conn. A Branford man was charged with drug possession Friday after a package containing a pound of marijuana was mailed to his Fairfield office, police say.
Employees at a Black Rock Turnpike office told police that Stuart Rosenberg, 63, of Branford received a package at the building on May 18, while he was on vacation. His coworker signed for an opened the package, and found what turned out to be approximately one pound of marijuana, according to the police report.
Rosenberg reported to Fairfield Police when he returned to town. He told investigators that the package was supposed to contain paperwork, and denied knowing that marijuana was inside before it was opened, according to the police report.
Rosenberg turned himself in Friday after Fairfield Police filed for a warrant for his arrest. He was charged with possession of more than four ounces of marijuana and possession with intent to sell, both misdemeanors. He was released on a promise to appear in court on Aug. 13.
