Police: Man Stole Silver Dollars At Fairfield Flea Market

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - A man stole two silver dollar coins with a total value of $85 from a table at a tag sale at Fairfield Ludlowe High School on Sunday morning, police said.

According to the police, the suspect, later identified as Naum Medved, 58, of Trumbull, took two silver dollar coins off a table and made no attempt to pay for them before leaving the market.

He was followed to his car, which police found at Medved's residence in Trumbull where they confronted him, police said.

Medved confessed to stealing the coins but said he dropped them in a bush before leaving the flea market, police said. He was charged with sixth-degree larceny and released on a written promise to appear at Bridgeport Superior Court on July 29.
