Witnesses told police that they saw a man leaving Centro Restaurant on Post Road with his two kids Friday evening, according to police reports. The witnesses said the man was slurring his speech and stumbling as he left, and he declined the staff’s request that he take a cab home, police said.
Police traced the license plate reported by witnesses to a home on Quincy Street, according to the report. There they talked with Peter DiDomenico, 43, of Fairfield, police said. DiDomenico failed field sobriety tests at the scene and was placed under arrest, police said. His two kids, ages 10 and 13, were safe at home, according to the police report.
DiDomenico was charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor, a felony, and driving under the influence, a misdemeanor. He was released after posting a $2,000 bond, and is due in court on April 15.
