Members of the Darien Police Department were dispatched to a Contentment Island home in Darien at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, where there was a report of a party with minors drinking alcohol.

Police said that upon arrival at the home, one of the party-goers, a 17-year-old teenager was “clearly exhibiting signs of intoxication and had the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person.”

According to police, the officers were informed that the parents of two minors at the party who owned the home were out of town and they invited friends over. Fourteen other minors were found inside the house, and there was “evidence of alcohol consumption around the home, to include the setup for beer drinking games.”

The parents of the home where the party was hosted were contacted and ordered to respond to the scene, although they were out of state. The parents said that the children were supposed to be staying with friends over the weekend.

Officers contacted the parents of each of the minors, who were required to come to pick them up. Members of the Darien Police Department Youth Division are planning to follow-up with the parents and teens at the party. Check Daily Voice for updates.
