First responders were dispatched to a stretch of I-95 southbound in Westport at approximately 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23 between exits 18 and 19, state police said.

According to officials, two people in the car - which was totaled - suffered minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and it is unclear what caused the driver to lose control before striking the barrier.
