Onlookers Help Flip Car After Rollover Accident in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Fairfield police are investigating a Nov. 20 accident on Brooklawn Avenue that sent one town man to the hospital after his car skidded 220 feet and rolled on its side, only to be righted by Bridgeport and Fairfield police and firefighters as well as onlookers.

A 30-year-old Fairfield man drove his Chevy Tahoe north on the southbound lanes of Brooklawn, striking a southbound Volkswagen near Algonquin Road at around 7:30 p.m., police said. 

The driver, who was partially ejected from the Tahoe, was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center for treatment.

The incident is still under investigation, police said. The driver's name and his condition were not released.
