Norwalk Man Charged With Cocaine Possession In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – During a routine traffic stop Saturday afternoon, Fairfield officers found more than 1 gram of cocaine in a car belonging to a Norwalk resident, police said.

According to the police report Joel Clarke, 31, failed to make a complete stop at a stop sign at Fairfield Woods Road and Morehouse Highway when officers stopped him, police said.

The officer saw Clarke moving in his car before approaching and asked whether her had any contraband in the car, police said. He admitted to having drugs, police said.

During a search, the officer found 1.1 grams of a white powder substance in a bag, which tested positive for cocaine, police said.

Clarke was charged with possession of a narcotic and released on a written promise to appear in court Nov. 15.
