Man Wanted In Florida Caught By Fairfield Police

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- A man wanted in  Florida on an aggravated stalking charge was found in Fairfield after Fairfield University security reported him walking on the campus Tuesday afternoon.

Fairfield police charged Henry Diaz, 27 of Meriden, as being a fugitive from justice.

According to the report, campus security contacted town police after they saw Henry Diaz, 27 of Meriden, acting in a suspicious manner in the campus. He had reportedly gone into the Human Resources Office and left without speaking to anyone. 

Police stopped Diaz as he was walking on North Benson Road and while identifying him found an active and extraditable warrant out of Orange County in Florida. There is a $10,000 bond issued in Florida on  the charge of aggravated stalking. 

Fairfield police charged Diaz as a fugitive from justice and held him on a $250,000 bond and issued a court date of Oct. 7. A charge of criminal trespassing was also issued by Fairfield University security.
