Robert Wilkinson of Milford was arrested on Monday after police received a report of a vehicle theft, said the Milford Police.
During an investigation, police found that Wilkinson had crashed the vehicle the night before and reported the vehicle stolen in order to cover it up.
He was charged with false report of theft.
Wilkinson was given a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 4.
