The owner of a local pest control service told police that Jerol Warkoski, 35, a five-year-employee of the company, had been taking money from the business, according to the police report. The employer said that Warkoski had been sent on calls at homes in Fairfield and other towns but did not bring back the proper paperwork, police say.
Investigators found that Warkoski had asked customers to write checks in his name, and then kept the money for himself, according to police reports. He was arrested on a warrant Thursday.
Warkoski was charged with sixth-degree larceny, a misdemeanor. He was released on a promise to appear in court, and assigned a hearing date of Jan. 17.
