Police were told that the man, later identified as Jeremy Collins, 36, of Bridgeport, had come into the theater and showed a photo of a woman he claimed was his girlfriend. After causing $700 in damages and searching the theaters with an employee he and the woman left the building, police said.
When leaving, Collins left a trail of blood on the floor of the building, down the escalators and onto the sidewalk outside the building, police said.
A security guard followed Collins and the woman to a home in Bridgeport and contacted police with the license plate number, police said. Fairfield police contacted Bridgeport police and officers from both departments went to the house and arrested Collins, according to a police report.
Collins was charged with second-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. He was released on a written promise to appear on Jan. 6.
