Troopers, flying in Cessna 182 Skylanes, will be using their airborne vantage point to spot speeding, aggressive driving, tailgating, unsafe lane changes and other traffic violations, police said.
Being up in the air means they can detect situations in difficult areas such as construction work zones, no-passing zones and roads without adequate shoulders or median crossovers.
They then pass along what they see to troopers on the ground.

During the Thanksgiving holidays during that time period, there were 13 crash-related fatalities, they added.
If the police and public works together, those tragedies can be prevented, they said.
