According to the police report, 21-year-old Palmer Prinston of Port Washington, N.Y., kicked down a bedroom door after his girlfriend locked him out while she was getting her belongings.
The girlfriend told officers that she had locked herself in the bedroom during an argument about breaking up to keep him away, police said.
Campus security told officers that Prinston initially told them that his girlfriend attacked him first, and that they found him difficult to understand due to a high level of intoxication, police said.
Later, Prinston told officers that his friends had held him down outside, allowing for his girlfriend to leave the area, police said.
When told he would be issued a misdemeanor summons, Prinston became aggressive and tried to leave the area, twice pulling his arms out of police grips before being taken into custody, police said.
Prinston was charged with interfering with an officer and disorderly conduct and was released on $500 cash bond with a court date of April 9.
