FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A Fairfield University senior died in a car accident the day before his expected graduation, the school said in a statement Saturday.
Deandre Lawson, 21, of Brockton, Mass. was due to graduate from Fairfield’s Dolan School of Business Sunday. Early Saturday morning he was involved in a one-car collision on North Benson Road in Fairfield, according to police reports. He died from his injuries Saturday, according to a Fairfield University press release.
“The tragedy has shaken the entire community and all are profoundly saddened by the loss of a valued member of the Fairfield family,” the school said in its statement Saturday. “All in the Fairfield community are invited to prayer for Deandre, his family and friends.”
