Fairfield police, Metro-North police and train engineers responded to the call after the operator contacted the Fairfield police. When officers arrived, they asked a group of teenagers on the platform who might have made the call, police said. Through interviews, officers found the person who made the call, police said.
According to the report, the teen had made four calls to Metro-North regarding the train delays when he made the comment about jumping in front of the train to the operator.
Police charged the teen with breach of peace. The teen is due in court Sept. 19 and was released to a parent.
As a result of the call, Metro-North delayed an additional train and placed following other trains on a speed restriction as a precaution.
The teen told officers that he did not intend to harm himself and he hadn't meant anything by the comment, police said.
