Fairfield Shoplifting Suspect Drops Baby Formula As He Flees Store

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - A man attempting to steal baby formula from the CVS Pharmacy on Grasmere Avenue in Fairfield dropped some of the items he was taking as an employee chased him through the parking lot Thursday morning, police said.

A white man wearing a black sweater and jeans in his late 30s entered the CVS at about 10:20 a.m. and went to the baby section, Fairfield police said.

The suspect took six cans of baby formula valued at $25.99 each and walked past all the registers before leaving the store, police said. He ran through the parking lot after an employee attempted to stop him, police said. The employee chased the suspect through the parking lot, but the man fled toward the nearby train tracks, police said.

During the foot chase, the man dropped the bag containing the formula in the parking lot, police said.
