Fairfield School Bus Driver Loses Job After Swerving Incident

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- A school bus driver seen swerving Wednesday afternoon on Fairfield Beach Road has been fired due to what officials believe was a prank on 21 students, according to fairfieldcitizenonline.com.

The driver, whose identity was not released, is not facing criminal charges, but was removed from his position under terms of the contract between the bus company and the school district, according to the report.

Authorities said only one of the students appeared to be concerned about the driver's supposed prank and there was no indication the driver was influenced by alcohol or drugs, according to the report. 

There were no injuries, the story said.
