Fairfield Police: Two Men Steal Landscaping Tools From Parked Truck

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Some people may see a landscaping truck as a part of of the Fairfield County scenery, but two men apparently saw it as an opportunity for gain, police said.

Two men were driving in a Ford Escape down Hillside Road on Tuesday when they saw a landscaping truck on Hillside Road. Police said they pulled over, exited the vehicle and stole several expensive landscaping tools.

Two men driving in a Ford Escape down Hillside Road on Tuesday spotted the landscaping truck on the side of the road, police said. They pulled over, got out of the vehicle and purloined several expensive landscaping tools, police said.

The men stole two Red Max power mowers valued at $1,200 each, a $400 weed trimmer and an unknown tool valued at $200, police said.

After putting the tools in their car, the men escaped in their Ford on Congress Street toward the Merritt Parkway, police said.

The incident is under police investigation.
