Fairfield Police Throw Blanket Fundraiser

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield Police Department is selling a custom throw blanket to raise money for college scholarships.

The  2016 Fairfield Police Department Custom Throw 48-by-68-inch blanket is on sale for $40. The proceeds will go to the Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Fund, a 501(c)(3) charity, according to police.

The fund was established in 2014 and benefits the children of Fairfield police officers. The foundation also awards scholarships annually to graduating Fairfield High School seniors who plan to pursue a career in law enforcement or are the children of a police officer.
