Fairfield Police Seek Suspect Who Stole $20K Worth Of OxyContin From CVS

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The Fairfield Police Department has released photographs of a suspect in two separate thefts of a total of nearly 2,000 OxyContin tablets worth $20,000 from the CVS Pharmacy on Black Rock Turnpike.

In both cases, a white male entered the CVS at 1968 Black Rock Turnpike and went to the pharmacy counter where the suspect threatened that people would be hurt if the technician does not comply with his request, according to police reports.

The two robberies on June 24 and Oct. 9 at the CVS at 1968 Black Rock Turnpike, police said.

In both cases, a white male entered the CVS and went to the pharmacy counter, where the suspect said "people would be hurt" if the technician did not comply with his demand for the pain-killing drug, according to police reports.

In both cases, the pharmacy technician complied and the suspect fled with about 1,000 OxyContin tablets for a total of approximately 2,000 tablets and a street value of nearly $20,000, according to police reports.

OxyContin, or oxycodone, is a narcotic analgesic used to reduce pain. The controlled substance is often sold on the street, according to police reports.

The suspect is described as a white male of average height and build, wearing a baseball-style cap and gloves. 

In the first incident, he was carrying a backpack, and in the second incident he was carrying an umbrella, according to police.
