Police said the phones were shipped in five packages to the university’s Park Avenue address, but they arrived on Good Friday and the school was closed. The packages were sent to the Federal Express distribution center in Stratford, where they were retrieved by an unknown person on March 25, police said.

The packages were addressed to a person who was a Sacred Heart student in the 1990s, police said. Police are reviewing surveillance video from the distribution center, and the police investigation is ongoing.

Verizon has reimbursed the university, police said.
