Letsch, who has served the department for 19 years, is now the senior traffic crash deconstructionist for Fairfield.

He works closely with the Traffic Safety Unit and the Engineering Department to analyze and problem solve collision conflicts to enhance safety.

Letsch has been instrumental in the use of “Total Station” collision reconstruction software and he has used his expertise in assisting several other agencies with their collision reconstructions.

Letsch is a longtime participant in the department’s annual “Mock Crash” event at local high schools, which increases teen awareness of the risks of driving under the influence.

Letsch also serves as the sniper team leader on the Emergency Service Unit, Honor Guard coordinator and Toys for Tots coordinator.
