On Friday, a Redfield Road woman told police that she thought her neighbor, Steven Harris, 41, of Redfield Road, took the tag that was to be cancelled after her mother’s death and was using it at the station, police said.
When contacted by phone, Harris agreed with police that it was both improper and illegal to use the placard, which he said the late woman left behind when she borrowed his car once, police said.
The woman’s daughter did not want Harris arrested, but she did want the placard confiscated, police said.
Harris was given a $150 ticket for illegally parking in a handicapped space, police said.
