Fairfield Police: Man Drinks PCP, Goes On Rant At Mercedes Dealership

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Bridgeport man, who identified himself by the name of TV’s “The Incredible Hulk” and refused to “give autographs,” was arrested Saturday after he struck a Mercedes of Fairfield employee several times with a rolled-up brochure at the Commerce Drive dealership, police said.

Tracey Edwards, 44, of Beechwood Avenue, who told police he drank “a large quantity of PCP” before the incident, also told all employees and customers that he owned the showroom and they were fired, police said.

Officers arrived at the scene after a 4:45 p.m. call to 911 and found a shoeless Edwards at the end of the business’ driveway, police said.

Witnesses told officers that Edwards had been yelling at customers and employees, calling himself “David Banner,” the rage-prone green giant’s milder alter-ego, and boasting of his daughter’s jiu jitsu skills, police said.

When taken to police headquarters for processing, Edwards refused to sign any forms because he "doesn’t give autographs.” He also claimed the federal government gave him telepathic powers, police said.

Edwards was charged with breach of peace and transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center for evaluation, police said.

He is scheduled to appear in court on April 10.
