The Fairfield Burglary Squad conducted several surveillance operations in the Stratfield area of town and determined that Bridgeport resident, Nicholas Kulish, 26, was a suspect, police said.
Over the investigation, police say they developed enough information to obtain a search warrant of Kulish's residence, police said. Officers found jewelry and other items stolen from these burglaries that were subsequently identified by the victims, Fairfield police said.
Kulish was dubbed by some as the "Basement Bandit," as the police report that the houses were entered via basement windows.
He was charged with six felony counts of third-degree burglary, eight counts of third-degree larceny and two counts of first-degree larceny in connection with burglaries on Putting Green Road, Bennett Street, Brooklawn Parkway and Davis Road.
His bond was set at $150,000 on these charges, but he has been incarcerated on other burglary related charges since April.
