Michael Targouski, 44, of North Main Street, was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny.
Targouski, who has 28 prior arrests, was arrested on a warrant at court, police said.
Surveillance video taken at an Algonquin Road home on June 4 shows a man breaking a window of the garage around 1:45 a.m., police said.
The man is then seen taking two mountain bikes, valued at $750, from the garage, police said.
The man returned at 3 a.m. to remove a $4,000 motorcycle, which he rode away on Villa Avenue.
Just before 10 p.m., the man returned and made off with two dirt bikes valued at $700 each, police said.
On June 8, police received a tip that one of the motorcycles was being stored on Sherwood Avenue in Bridgeport. Jon DaSilva, 25, of that address, was arrested and charged with third-degree larceny, police said.
One of the trail bikes was later found abandoned at P.T. Barnum Apartments in Bridgeport.
In November, a lab alerted detectives that DNA evidence on pliers found at the Algonquin Road scene matched Targouski, police said.
Targouski, who is already in prison, was held on $5,000 in the June crime.
