In the first step to apply, applicants must register on PoliceApp.com to take the CPCA written test. The test will be given in Fairfield on Sept. 19.
For Step 2, applicants must pass the CPCA written test with a score of 70 percent or greater. This needs to be completed before submitting an application.
For Step 3, the applicants will be invited to participate in the Oral Board Examinations based on written scores.
By Nov. 1, all applicants will be required to have a valid C.H.I.P card with a passing score in the 40th percentile.
The minimum requirements is that the applicant must be 21 years of age, must be a high school graduate (or passed recognized GED test), and have a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
