According to the report, Dale Dorenbosch, 23, of Redding, handed pharmacists a prescription for 160 hydrocodone pills. When the pharmacist called the prescribing doctor to confirm the prescription, the doctor said that Dorenbosch had been prescribed only 60.
When officers arrived at the pharmacy, they asked him if he had altered the prescription, he initially said that he hadn't but later admitted to adding the '1' in front of the '60', police said
Dorenbosch was charged with altering a prescription with the intent to get a narcotic, and with fraud.
He was released by police on a written promise to appear in court on Jan. 6.
