A protective order was in place against Billy Rivera, 32, from March 2013 through September 2014.
The victim went to the police Nov. 22 to report that she had received numerous calls from Rivera at her job on Nov. 13, police said. After obtaining a search warrant for the phone records, police were able to determine that on Nov. 13 Rivera's cellphone called her job eight times in violation of the protective order, police said.
Rivera was charged in court with criminal violation of a protective order and second-degree threatening. He was arraigned and held on $25,000 bond.
No information was available about the original court proceeding or the outcome of the hearing.
