When police entered the cemetery, the teenagers attempted to flee but were found near Reed Street. A K-9 officer and dog Ruger were called to the scene. The dog alerted the officer to a black backpack, inside of which were a digital scale and 100 clear plastic bags commonly used to package marijuana.
A small plastic container was also found with a grinder inside it. In a pile of leaves near where police found the teenagers, officers also found a glass jar with 22 grams of marijuana inside.
During a search of a vehicle, Ruger alerted police to the car door, and officers found a red bag in the back seats containing marijuana.
All eight of them were charged with simple trespassing, and two were charged with possession of marijuana. They were all released to their parents custody.
