FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield police charged a Bridgeport man with attacking a bar bouncer with a broken bottle and stabbing him in the face, according to ctpost.com.

Daniel Silva, 30, was drinking at Bill's Crossroads bar with friends late Sunday, the ctpost.com reported. Silva stayed at the bar after his friends left and continued to drink, ctpost.com reported.

Bar employees were attempting to escort Silva from the establishment at closing time early Monday when he attacked the bouncer, ctpost.com said. Silva attempted to flee on foot but was found passed out in a back yard nearby, ctpost.com reported.

Silva was charged with first-degree assault and interfering with an officer, according to ctpost.com.
