Meleek Gorham, 42, of Arctic Street, Bridgeport, was being held at the Bridgeport Correctional Center on a second-degree burglary charge from Stratford when Fairfield police arrested him on a warrant, police said.
He was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny in the Feb. 3 incident in Fairfield.
Police believe Gorham broke into the home’s rear door, taking two laptops, electronic equipment, a backpack, a purse and jewelry.
A fingerprint at the house led officers to Gorham, police said. Upon his arrest, Gorham told police he had a “serious heroin addiction” and was “taking anything he could carry,” police said.
Gorham has a record of past charges, including robbery, burglary, assault and larceny, police said.
He was held on $5,000 bond and appeared in court on the Fairfield charges on Dec. 9, police said.
