Around 9:30 p.m., an officer stopped a car driven by Meghan Cooper, 23, of Midland Street, Bridgeport, because it had no front license plate and the rear plate was displayed on the rear dashboard, police said.
The officer noticed two women in the front of the car moving suspiciously and trying to change seats, police said.
Upon investigation, the officer determined Cooper, a convicted felon on probation, was driving with a suspended license and there were two children, 7 and 5, riding without proper restraints in the back seat, police said.
Cooper was arrested and charged with interfering with a police officer and driving under suspension, police said.
Her passenger, Kenya Pridgen, 23, of Dover Street, Stratford, was charged with misuse of plates, interfering with an officer, operating an unregistered vehicle, operating an uninsured vehicle and two counts of failure to secure a child under seven, police said.
Pridgen also refused to get out of the way when a tow truck driver tried to move the car, police said.
Both women were released on a promise to appear in court on May 9.
