Fairfield Man Charged With Assault After Breaking Glass Fan In Argument

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A Fairfield man was arrested on assault charges after an argument escalated into a fight at his home on Oakwood Drive on Friday evening, police said. 

Michael Metrano, 56, of Fairfield, was charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault.

Police were called to the home after Michael Metrano, 56, of Faifield, swung a kitchen chair over his head, breaking a glass ceiling fan, and then slammed it to the floor, police said. He also grabbed a female family member by her hair, police said.

She broke free from him and fled the house, another family member who witnessed the incident told police.

Metrano was charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault. He was held on $5,000 bond and given a court date of Nov. 18. No information was available about his court appearance.
