Officers executed the arrest warrant, Wednesday, Oct. 29, charging Timothy Patrick Philbin of Margemer Drive with third-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree strangulation, police said Thursday.

On Oct. 18, Philbin had an argument with his girlfriend while they were on their way back to Fairfield from Stratford, police said.

The argument between the couple turned violent when Philbin grabbed his girlfriend by the arm, wrist and neck as she was driving on a highway, police said.

She was not hospitalized for injuries incurred during the incident, but she went to Fairfield Police Headquarters to report the incident almost a week later, on Oct. 24, reports show.

Philbin has been released on $25,000 bond with conditions.

His court date has yet to be set.
