Fairfield Man Accused Of Threatening Dad With Hatchet

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A Fairfield man faces allegations that he threatened his father with a hatchet outside a restaurant early Monday morning, according to police reports.

The victim told police that the two had an argument in a car outside the Duchess restaurant on the Post Road. During the fight the suspect held up a hatchet and said “One of us is going to die,” police said.

The victim then got out of the car, and the suspect drove away, police said. Kevin McMahon, 34, of Jennings Road was later picked up by Orange Police and turned over to Fairfield officers, according to the police report. After being processed he was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center for a psychiatric evaluation, police said.

McMahon was charged with a breach of the peace and threatening. He was released after posting a $5,000 bond, and is due in court Monday.
