Police report that Vidal Romero, 29, of Bridgeport, was driving on Kings Highway with a barely legible license plate in his rear window. Upon approaching the car, the officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside, police said.
The K-9 officer, Ruger, was called and alerted to a spot in the car where the officer found two bags of marijuana, police said.
Romero was taken into custody and taken to police headquarters for processing. He was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of over 4 ounces of marijuana and failure to display rear license plate.
He was released on $500 bond and given a court date of March 28.
