Michael Marzan, 32, of Thompson Street, who has an extensive criminal history, was charged with third-degree burglary and criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny when police found him lying on the floor in an upstairs room at Champion Maintenance Services around 2 a.m., police said.
An officer on patrol noticed a suspicious person carrying a yellow bag in the area and parked to investigate on foot.
Finding the business’ door unlocked and a window open, officers went inside and found Marzan, police said. A search did not turn up the bag.
Marzan said he has slept at the business before when he misses his bus home, police said.
He was released on a promise to appear in court on April 24.
