When officers arrived at Enterprise Rent-a-Car around 6:30 a.m., they saw Kevin Avila, 19, of West 135th Street, New York, and Jenny Gamble, 20, of West 140th Street, New York, in a car they later learned was stolen from a Hertz car rental in White Plains, New York, police said.

Gamble, who was driving, admitted to going through cars at the Enterprise lot, but said a friend let her borrow the car she was driving, police said. She said she had been arrested a week earlier, also for driving a stolen car her friend let her borrow, police said.

Police said officers found several items they suspect were stolen in the car, including a GPS, a flip phone, eight phone chargers, earbuds, several key fobs with keys to multiple cars, six iPhone cases and clothing and purses with the tags still attached.

Gamble and Avila, who police identified as convicted felons, were each charged with third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary and criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny, police said. Gamble was also charged with second-degree larceny.

Gamble was held on $2,500 bond and Avila was held on $1,000 bond. They are scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 7.
