Around 1:50 p.m., a man walked into DSW with a suit jacket over his arm, concealing a shopping bag underneath it, the store manager, who recognized the men, told police. The man walked to the men’s shoe department.

Shortly afterwards, a second man walked in and walked to the men’s department, blocking the store surveillance camera while the first man shoved Nike sneakers into the bag, police said.

A third man entered the store carrying a shoe box and stood near the theft-detection alert equipment at the entrance.

The first and third man then exited the store at the same time. When the alarm went off, the third man showed store employees the box and said he must have gotten too close to the alarm system, while the first man continued walking out, police said.

All three men got into a grey minivan and left the parking lot, police said.

Store employees believe the men made off with about $450 worth of sneakers.
