The 87-year-old woman failed to stop while in the parking lot of the Rite Aid shortly after 1 p.m. Monday, narrowly hitting a pedestrian, the police report said.
There were no injuries related to the accident.
She told officers that this was the second time she had done this, police said. In August, she hit the storefront of the Hair Company on Black Rock Turnpike, she told police.
After she made several statements that concerned officers, she was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital for an emergency committal.
Officers took her driver's license and said she will need to be retested. The accident was still being investigated.
