As dirt bike, quad and motorcycle riders continue frightening motorists on a stretch of I-95 and other busy Connecticut roads, local law enforcement agencies are cracking down.

At least eight dirt bike riders were arrested and a dozen vehicles seized by police in New Haven this week, according to WTNH News 8. The arrests come days after riders blocked traffic and surrounded several vehicles on I-95 and nearby roadways.

The report states that at least three of the arrested riders came to Connecticut from New York and Rhode Island. Cell phone video footage from WTNH shows dirt bike riders going through red lights, swerving near oncoming traffic and doing potentially dangerous stunts.

Police officials could not immediately be reached for comment on Friday morning.

Each of the arrested riders has been charged with reckless driving and reckless endangerment. They are due to appear in court later this month to answer the charges against them.
