David Gorman, 55, had been going to a home on Church Hill Road uninvited, sorting through the resident's mail and looking through windows from the backyard to see what was happening inside the home, police said.
Witnesses said he often sits in his car on the road opposite the house, police said. They told police that he had also attempted to talk to people the victim knows to gather information about her life, police said.
Officers warned Gorman several times about his behavior, police said. During an interview at police headquarters, he told police he knew he shouldn't be going to the house and admitted to some of the activities, police said.
The victim told police she was concerned for her safety because of Gorman's behavior.
Gorman was charged with first-degree criminal trespassing and second-degree stalking Thursday. He was held on $20,000 bond and taken to court Friday. No outcome of this court date was available.
