Jevon Pegues, 22, of Old Mill Road, Danbury, was wanted on multiple failure-to-appear warrants, police said.

About 7:53 p.m. Thursday, officers had information that Pegues was in the parking lot of Jennings Beach in Fairfield with his girlfriend. Fairfield officers set up a loose perimeter around the Jennings Beach parking lot while a five-man team of Bail Enforcement agents made an attempt at an apprehension. Pegues was able to elude Bail Enforcement agents, but they managed to rip his shirt and his shoes off in the scuffle as he ran through the backyards of houses near Craig Court, according to police.

Bridgeport K-9 and Norwalk K-9 responded, and both did separate tracks in the area but were unable to locate Pegues, according to the report.

Bail Enforcement agents called shortly after 11 p.m., stating they had tracked Pegues’ girlfriend, 22-year-old Ashley Krokovich, who was traveling from Danbury in the direction of Fairfield. Police believed it was likely that she was picking up Pegues. Several patrols observed Krokovich’s car as it drove to Fairfield police headquarters. The girlfriend explained that she was looking for her boyfriend and came to HQ for information, police said.

Bail Enforcement and the Danbury Police Department caught Pegues at 6:53 a.m. Friday in Danbury at his brother’s apartment. His girlfriend had picked him up and driven him there, then lied to Danbury police about Pegues being in the house, police said.
